Darkness

    by: HeroicWriter Author IconMail Icon
No matter how much you tried to make out your surroundings, the darkness in that room prevented you from finding out which kind of place you were now.... that worsened your fear: despite the dragon's half-promise about sparing your life, at least for now, you were afraid that he could have changed his mind and carried you into a torture chamber... or perhaps, many other dragons were hidden in the deep blackness, ready to jump on you and use you as a snack...

"Ouch!" Your terrified thoughts were abruptly interrupted when the scaly giant dropped you onto the hard stone ground. Moaning, you sat up, massaging your aching backside, and looking up you could feel, rather than see, the dragon's huge form looming above you.

*Stay here until I came to retrieve you.* the sharp command echoed in your mind in a deceivingly calm and cold tone.

"How long am I going to stay here?" you asked, and then screamed while an excruciating pain exploded from your left shoulder. Crouching on the ground, clutching the aching spot, after a couple seconds you realized what had striken you: the dragon's tail, used like a whip!

*You aren't in the position of asking questions.* Now the giant's tone was evidently angry. *You'd better realize that.* With that, a whooshing sound and a cold rush of air barely above your head signaled to you that the deadly tail was being threateningly swung, and you whimpered in terror.

Expecting a new swinging, you felt relieved, hearing thunderous footsteps walking away from you, and then you spotted the massive shilouette against the only source of light, the room entrance; after one moment, the dragon disappeared from your sight and the footsteps faded, leaving you in a miserable state of fear and humiliation.

So scared you were, that a couple minutes passed, before you realized that the door entrance had not been blocked... that brought a dilemma into your mind...

"Should I try an escape, or rather wait here quietly as the dragon ordered?"

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Escape

2. Wait

*Noteb*
3. Before Trent could decide, something happened....

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
