"Would you like something to take home with you?" asked Emily. "You must be hungry."
I was kind of full, but said, "Yeah, okay." After locking the front door, she took me into the back and showed me the inventory room.
"We didn't manage to sell nearly enough of these cinnamon swirls," she said. "Here, try one. If you like them you can have this whole box, they'll only go stale otherwise."
Smelling the pastry she handed to me, I felt quite sick, my stomach so full of muffins. But I had to try it, so as not to arouse suspicion. Luckily it was, just like the muffins, perfection, even if it had been around all day. "Mm, that's great," I said. "I'd love the box. I'll share them with my friends."
"Great. See you at your next shift then!"
"Bye," I said, sneaking one last look at her before I left. God, she was gorgeous.
