She giggled a little. “Well, we’re at Celeste’s house. We had a sleepover last night and did a bit of baking. But we kind of overdid it, so we thought maybe you’d like to come round and try some.”
“Sure,” I answered, “but you’ll have to give me some time. I’ve only just got up.” So I showered and dressed, then absent-mindedly started a stack of breakfast waffles before I realised I was about to eat some probably rather questionable culinary creations at Celeste’s. I didn’t want to waste the waffles, however, so I finished them quickly.
Dmitri was just arriving as I got there. “How could I refuse a call like that?” he rumbled. His large stomach, I noticed, had gotten even larger since his return from fat camp, and I wondered how much he now weighed.
We joined the girls in the kitchen – and I discovered that Shelley’s statement had not been quite correct.
