You turn in for the night, waking up to somethi...

The next half hour or so were mostly me just hanging with Shelly. And THAT was basically just her geeking out about how amazing the asteroid getting blasted into pieces was over the soft-drinks and quick-prep bags of popcorn I got for us.

I mean, it was pretty cool, I had to admit. But she seemed super enthused over it. Scarily so. Like, she was expecting the thing to make all the animals of the world get up on their hind legs and do a jig. Granted as she went on about the aerial explosion in excruciating detail, I did have some of it drowned out when I ate a wad of the lukewarm popcorn we had out. But, surely it was about Elutherious and its place in history or something. Couldn't have been that important.

Anyway, I actually offered if Shelly wanted to crash in one of the spare rooms in my place. With my folks gone they would just be vacant. Not in a creepy way or anything, just to save her the trip back in the dark. She declined, saying that she was cool with doing the walk back. Something about wanting to see how much longer the faint glow of the asteroid's remains would last in the sky. My neighbourhood was relatively safe in Hesper, so I could totally get that and wish her a good night with little worry as she skipped through the side of my place and down the street.

With that, I cleaned up some of the trash caused by Shelly and I and headed back inside. I myself, of course, disposed of the spare soda that went unclaimed because, hey, I like to be thorough when it comes to sugary stuff like that. So down it went in my already soda and popcorn-filled stomach.

I actually had thoughts of maybe waffling around the house for a bit before bed. Watch some TV, maybe click on the internet to see if anyone else was being as gung-ho about the asteroid as Shelly was. Instead, after I got changed into some PJs, I felt a sudden drowsiness hit me like a truck. "Guess I'll turn in..." I thought as the sight of my slightly crooked covers and bedding looked so alluring.

Thankfully I didn't really have any plans for tomorrow, so I had little need to set an alarm. After a night like this sprung on me with Shelly sometimes being a pretty full ball of energy, a day of lazing about sounds good. Maybe Dmitri will want to swing by for some repose from his parent's for some easy and quick snacks.

Those thoughts quickly became muddled as I felt myself slip off into a deep sleep almost immediately upon hitting my head on the pillows.

The ensuing night's rest wasn't exactly 'Restful.'

It wasn't quite a nightmare or anything. Rather, it was just so... vivid. But, at the same time, everything seemed so vague too. And not like in the typical fuzziness most normal dreams can have. The actual content is very clear in my head, even after I awoke. It was so real-feeling that I felt exhausted upon returning back awake.

But... I couldn't fully describe WHAT I saw in great detail. Gah! It's so typical.

The dream was at my home. Normal as it could be. Except... glowing figures loomed about. I can say they seemed... imposing. Or at least, big. The body type or outline didn't seem to match up to anyone I knew in real life, and I don't think it was a match to anything I saw on TV or flicking through my phone on social media. I don't think it matched up to a video game, either.

The only other thing I could derive was that glow around these figures. The green, neon glow seemed not too far off from Eleutherios the night prior. And I recall being basked in it, not against my own will. At least, I don't think it was. It was so weird. I also recall a numb humming being present throughout the dream. Like someone had quieted a sizzling pan and lowered by a semitone or two.

Then, I remember feeling a certain heaviness before I woke up. It was like both the fullness of a nervous feeling in your gut and an actual heavy sensation of having a lot of weight pulled over you. My senses lagged before I tried to ponder what kind of dream that was. It hardly seemed like a "Too much to eat" kinda dream.

"Eurghh... What WAS that?" I groggily slurred out. My head swirled with this bizzare dream. I don't know why, but it seemed to stay rattled in my mind for longer than a dream would do for someone like me, who typically forgets what I go through while asleep as the more pressing matter of checking my phone or grabbing food took precedence over all else. It kinda seemed like a premonition or something you'd find in a movie.

As my senses settled down and I tried to get up, I...
