Phone the manager and decline the offer

Lance, the band' manager shook his head in disbelief. Matt was a real talent, really too good for the mediocre band his was stuck managing. Lance was hoping to develope MAtt into a teenage heartthrob but apparently Matt had his own plans.
" so what's the plan?' he asked innocently.
"I'm ready to solo. I never fit the bands image anyway. "
"Solo?, You think you are ready for that? "
"Maybe not," Matt answered but I guess I'll find out."
Lance left it at that.
Several weeks later, Lance discovered that Matt had a gig at a small club and dropped in. Matt was good he noticed but the small audience seemed not to be impressed.
It was a few more until Lance heard from Matt again.
"It's not so easy starting a career," he told Lance. "I guess I'm not the talent I thought I was. I'm back at the convenience store to put food on the table but I would like to reconsider coming back to the band. Do you still want me?
