Chapter #7
Early Closing
by: Unknown
It was only history anyway its not like she needed it desperately, taking another burger she bit into it feeling a warmth grip her body she continued eating feeling the juices from the burger going down her throat.
The fatty foods was a clear distraction and history was stuffed into the back of her mind.
"These are the best burgers ever.." Lucy thought nibbling on some as she took a woman's order.
"I'm off Monica" called her boss. "Ive done my 6 hours for today. You'll lock up before you leave wont you?" Lucy and Monica's boss said as she heaved herself out the door. She was quite a heavy woman as well.
"At last she's gone." said Monica with a smile. "I think tonight is early closing too. Today was pretty dead." Monica went over to check the register as Lucy continued snacking at the table in the corner.
"Yes it is, we close at 4 today." Lucy said checking her watch. It was 3 already.
The next hour seemed to drag on for Lucy. With only one customer she filled the boredom gap with chicken nuggets. But as she binged on she started feeling too stuffed and she didn't eat any more, she could already see the fabric around the buttons beginning to rip. Small little tears were appearing all over her tight, ketchup-stained shirt. Her belly was sharply protruding outwards from under her vest.
"I look like friggin' employee of the month." Lucy said to herself sarcastically as she wiped down a table.
4 P.M. soon arrived.
"Look at all the food left!" exclaimed Monica "I cant believe the company says it should just be thrown away!"
"Thats awful its just a waste." Exclaimed Lucy. "Then again we can't serve today's food tomorrow." Lucy said with a laugh as she tucked a dish rag under the counter.
"I know". Monica agreed as she through away about a hundred fries.
"But these burgers and fresh and new, to bad we opened them..." Lucy said, refilling the ketchup dispenser.
"Yea, if its open we have to dispose of it Lucy." Monica ordered.
"I could understand the cooked food but the unused stuff in packages seems a bit much."
"Yeah, I normally eat some of the cooked stuff, but seeing as how these aren't stretch pants I don't think I'll be doing it tonight." Monica paused. "Besides I've been eating to much anyway."
"I'll help" said Lucy enthusiastically. "I think we could even cook the packaged stuff just to use it up. Ya know, instead of save wasting it." Lucy suggested, although she knew the last thing she should be doing was eating the left overs at a fast food joint.
