Chef Wanted

When Steve arrived he saw a sign for hiring. The sign indicated that Jason's was hiring new chefs. Fortunately for Steve the only good thing that came out of his horrible marriage was that knew how to cook extremely well. If he could get a job here it could eventually catapult him into a lifelong career as a chef. He intended to get a culinary degree in college, but his abusive ex-wife forced him to dropout since she made him clean the whole house with a toothbrush. It was also bad that she forced him into wearing a small maid's outfit. Steve was glad that he didn't have to see or hear from that psychotic witch ever again. Steve then ordered his usual. After eating his lunch he asked for an application.
"Hey Jason, I heard that you were hiring more chefs."
A large man around Steve's age turned around and looked at Steve.
"That's right. Are you asking for the job? Take this application and fill it out. Once you turn it in make sure you're ready for an interview." The man named Jason said as he handed Steve the application.
Steve drove his truck to his brother's house. Steve was excited to finally be able to get on his feet and finally be free of the evil abusive ex-wife that dashed his dreams long ago. Steve still had time to raise a family and start a career despite being in his 30s. His family looked at him as he went by whistling.
"What's up Steve?" His older brother, Greg, asked.
"I just got an application for my favorite place to eat."
"That's good. It's good to see you recover from that divorce. I can't imagine what happened between you two. Oh Steve, your lawyer called he expects her first payment that you owe her by the end of the month."
