You bob up and down on the surface looking for a hint of the right way to head home. Unfortunately each direction looks the same to you. You also notice a white pointer has taken an unhealthy interest in you and starts to circle in a most threatening fashion. You start to realize that you are literally beyond your depth and in deep trouble.
You decide to swallow your male pride and call plaitively for Alzena. At first you get no response but as the shrillness of your voice rises you see a Mermaids tale break the surface and then find a grinning Alzena pop up right next to you who cheekily asks "Need to be rescued Master?"
You blush a bright red but quickly manage to hide your embarrassment "Um not exactly rescued, but some help would be appreciated"
She then cocks her head looking first at you and the ever narrowing circle the sharks fin seems to be making "So you have no trouble with that shark then Master?"
You bite your bottom lip "Alright I don't know how to get ride of it Alzena"
She giggles "No worries Master I'll rescue you"
She then dives on the shark and beats it it on its snout, the poor things quickly turns tale and swims away with undue haste.
Brushing her hands together matter of factly she turns back to you "See Master no problems, easily disposed off. Need any other help?"
She then gives you a cheekie grin "It seems the tables are turned out here, you know you seem more like the mermaid and me the merman"
You matter something under your breath and chose to ignore her comment. She then asks with an obvious giggle "Need any other assistance my pretty mermaid?"
Rather irritated now you bite your lip not wanting to say something which will send her away "Well I'd like some assistance to get home"
She grinned and nodded her head "Certainly dear, you no in our culture if a mermaid asks for help three times from the same Merperson she remains forever a maid"
You give her a rather confused look"Do you mean they can't ever marry?"
She laughed loudly at your question showing her rather sharp and shark like teeth "No dear, it means the opposite that they can marry"
You look even more confused but decide now is not the time to seek clarification "So are you going to take me home?"
She nods her head "Yess Mater I defintely intend too"
She then dances around you giggling " Do you want to now the more important question of what happens to a Merman who asks for help particularly from a mermaid?"
You scowl and shrug your shoulders before saying "..
