You decide there is plenty of time for all that later. Her face is lit up with wonder as you lead her through your palace. She seems amazed at the simplest of things. At times she simply stops walking and runs her hands up and down her legs. Stairs seem to confuse her at first, and she has a delightful half pout on her face, when you explain that these are necessary to get to higher floors.
Of course, with mer-folk buildings you can swim in and out of any floor, and opening. The rooms stack up in a more haphazard fashion, and are more organic in their forms. Alzena explains that her people can shape the corral and weave seaweed to shape and expand their homes.
Her mouth drops open and she clings to your side as soon as you go out into the garden. Just seeing, the symettical and geometric shapes of all the human buildings intimidates her. You feel her breasts press into your flesh, and baser thoughts return to your mind.
Sashra is out in the garden, too and she looks upset to see you out with this unfamiliar woman. You wave to one another, and blow her a kiss. But she doesn't come over... in fact, she leaves rather quickly, on the verge of running. You suspect she is going to the harem to spread news of the new girl, or to ask her friends if they know anything about the new girl.
You sit under the stars in the summer house. Statues surround you and you listen to her breathe as she rests against your side.
"John... how can I ever thank you for showing me all this." With one hand she gestures to the sky, and the buildings before caressing the leaves of the hedge that form the back wall.
You kiss her on the forehead, but just enjoy her unbridled enthusiasm for life and this exciting life. A couple of ways spring immediately to mind.
"Oh please, John Let me show you my world!" She lifts her head from your chest and the hope that fills her eyes is impossible to deny.
When you don't answer immediately, she continues on. "There are such treasures to be found in my world, oh please, please, please."
You aren't sure if she meant it this way, but you know that the shores around the city are difficult to navigate, and littered with wrecks. If Alzena could even show you where a fraction of these were, the wealth you could recover could make you richer than the sultan.
And with that wealth you could afford a dowry for the hand on Princess Basra. And with royal connections, your businesses would flourish and your wealth would grow even more.
"Of course, my dear. I'd be delighted to see your world."
