Absence Noted

    by: PowerFiction Author IconMail Icon
Rachel had sat quietly for some minutes, not realizing that John was now screaming as loud as he could to get her attention near her feet, and she shifted in position slightly. Of course, unbeknownst to her, John was in the middle of being climbing the worlds largest pinky toe at the time, sending him sailing far into the air.

Finally, after John had settled ontop of her knee and took the chance to rest, Rachel finally decided to ask "John, why are you being so quiet?". Turning her head, she finally realized that John wasn't even there at all. When did he leave? "John? Where'd you go?" she asked, unable to hear John screaming that he's "Down here!" as she stood up, forcing John to hold on to a strand of leg fur for dear life as she began to look around.

She checked the bathroom, under the bed, in the closet...where had he gone? Why would he leave her alone like that? And how didn't she notice? Sighing, she strutted out of the room, unaware of what was happening to John as she did...

---

Finally, Rachel had left the room. After a few minutes of sweating and wondering if John was alright, A'shter finally had a chance to find the poor sod. Slithering out of the closet, he began to examine the bed closely, only to realize that...John was way too small to see. If he was gonna find the lion, he'd have to shrink himself down and explore the bed...not a particularly pleasing sounding option, but he had to do it.

So, sighing, he aimed the gun at himself, and slammed on the trigger. A'shter watched in awe as the world exploded outwards, the bed becoming terrifyingly large underneat his tail. After a few moments, everything settles down...compared to Rachel, A'shter was now about 1/700th of her size, only he didn't realize it immedietly. He just knew that he had to find John. Turning around, his jaw hit the floor as he saw what a grand mistake he'd made. The gun didn't shrink with him! It now towered above him, like a monolith, reminding him of what a poor set of decisions he'd made. Groaning, he set off to find John...maybe they could work together to fix this.
