As your senses returned you tried to look around you, but everything was dark. You had no choice but to sit where you were and wait to be used. You didn't have long to wait. A cupboard door was opened and there in front of you stood your sister. Around you you could see a number of coffee cups. You gulped inwardly. You knew that was all that was kept on this shelf of the cupboard. Your sister grabbed hold of you and lifted you up. It took her no effort whatsoever to lift you down. She placed you on the kitchen side and using a teaspoon put some coffee inside you. You could taste the granuals. You'd always despised the smell of coffee and now you had no choice but to smell and taste it. Ally poured some milk into the bottom of the cup while she waited for the kettle to boil. The taste was awful. You just wanted to be sick. Then you heard the kettle click. You saw Ally pick it up and pour the boiling water into you. You expected it to burn, but it didn't. You were a cup after all. You were designed to hold such hot water. Ally picked you up and carried you to the living room where she put you down on a table to cool while she watched the television.
At length Ally picked you up again. She moved you towards her face, her thin lips parting. You watched in helpless horror as Ally put you to her mouth and drank from you. You cursed the gypsy for what she had done to you. Yet your curse was useless, whereas hers had had a lasting impact on you.
Eventually Ally finished her coffee and went and put you on the kitchen side, leaving the dregs in the bottom, waiting to be washed. And all you could do was wait.
