The thick, buttery loafs of bread ready on either side of the delicious layers within the sandwiches. All of course fresh out of the oven, meaning, the cheese has perfectly melted to the bacon and it’s greasy juices along with newly applied mayo, ranch, onion rings, steak, and a row of waffle cut fries.
There are twenty sandwiches total. But one missing is no big deal, your stomach says, tempting the fates of hunger and gluttony. “Sure,” you mutter, “no big deal...”
The sandwich needed three hands to handle, two can manage with a certain skill set, one you wear as a badge. The greasy delight slides smoothly to your mouth and is fondled by your tastebuds upon the first bite. Nirvana in a sandwich glazes down you gullet and into your greedy gut. After a treat like this, you don’t stop at one or two. Simply, the heart wants what the heart wants or more accurately, the belly wants.
After eating eight of the giant meals. You look physically full. The uniform has given up on covering your belly and retreated to hide under your moobs and back fat. You know you’ll get fired for this, but who cares? It was worth it, and if you weren’t full you’d be eating more...which doesn’t sound like a bad idea. You look to the remaining sandwiches and back to your overgrown gut. You heft yourself up to pain and sloshing from your flabby middle, none of which matters. But, that act alone has made you tired but you ignore it and waddle slowly to the prize.
Kate works the register at the checkout when someone orders a family meal sandwich (the one you have taken to heart) she knows you were sent back to check on them, but haven’t been back in an hour. She has a fair assumption that if one were missing it’s ok, but has no idea only one is left.
