After a lot of time thinking, Link accepted the proposal, a messenger immediately brought this news to the Princess who was overcome with joy.
The Princess was more than willing to fatten up now that she had her beloved Link by her side.
A few days later, the couple were standing together in formal dress, as they went through a Zora wedding festival, Link was looking rather uncomfortable in a smart suit, though he convinced them to let him keep the hat.
An old and wizened Zora asked them both if they accepted the other, to which they both replied 'Yes.', Link not so eagerly.
A rather burly Zora unloaded a large bucket of water on their heads, and they were informed the ceremony is now complete.
'Was that it?' asked a drenched Link
The former King clapped Link on the back and said 'Congratulations my daughter, you are now Queen Ruto of the Zora!' to which the assembled cheered loudly 'and you my son-in-law are now the first human King of the Zoras, Link the first! I thank you for your service to the Zora people!' to which there was another great cheer.
'and now for the initiation ceremony!' said the former King happily after they had all proceeded to the feasting hall and taken their seats.
'What do i do now?' asked Link
'Simple, you must feed the Queen the entire initiation feast!' said the former King indicating the countless plates of fish and assorted seafood covering the huge table.
Ruto opened an eager mouth, winked at Link and patted her flat belly.
'You have got to be kidding me...' Link muttered under his breath, there was obviously a lot about Zora customs which he had not been told about.
