Chapter #5

Catgirls and hot springs don't mix

The crew of the Outlaw Star had just experienced a massive battle between them and a rouge group of Kei pirates. The battle had been hard and the Outlaw Star was in need of massive repairs. They dropped it off at a special repair shop recommended to them by Fred Luo and were told to come back in a week. With their ship out of commission, the crew was left with two choices. One, stay on Heifong and take small time jobs so they could start paying off the massive debt they had with Fred Luo and paying for the repairs to the Outlaw Star or they could take most of their remaining money, fly off to Tenrei on a bus ship and relax after nearly being killed by the Kei pirates. In the end, Gene decided what had to be done.

“Hey Jim, pass the suntan lotion,” Gene called out to his companion in the pool. Jim swam to the side of the pool, where Gene was laid out on a blanket, soaking up some of Tenrei’s sunbeams.

“Ya know, we really should be trying to pay back Fred, instead of lounging around here.” Jim’s comments went unheard by Gene, who had his hand out waiting for it to be filled with a tube of suntan lotion. Seeing that he was being ignored, Jim splashed the sun tanning space captain.

“Hey!” Gene cried out as he was sprayed by water.

“I said, that we should be getting some jobs so we can pay back Fred.” Jim hated to be ignored by the older man, he acted so juvenile and foolish some times that Jim wondered if the Outlaw Star would be better off with him as captain.

“We all deserve a break Jim and look at the girls, they are having a blast,” Gene said as he got up to get the suntan lotion himself.

“Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow,” Aisha grumbled every few seconds as she treaded water in the pool.

“Aisha, are you okay?” Melfina asked the Ctarl-Ctarl with concern.

“Of course ow, I’m not okay ow. You know ow, my legs got ow, grazed by ow, one of the ow, Kei pirates shots and ow, now they are injured ow,” Aisha said between grunts of pain from moving her legs.

“They why don’t you just sit out of the pool?” Melfina asked gently. Aisha cast the Bio-android an annoyed look and Melfina remembered the reason for Aisha’s self-inflicted agony. When they had arrived on Tanrei, all Aisha had done was sit out of the pool and wallow in the sun, but after an hour of doing nothing, Gene started to complain. He said that Aisha was being ridicules to stay out of the water and that she was being lazy. The final insult that got the girl into the water was when Gene said that if she didn’t get any exercise she was going to get wider hips and an ass that wouldn’t fit in the Outlaw Star. So, Aisha had gone swimming and Gene had taken her spot under the sun.

“You know Aisha, I heard that they have a new healing hot spring just installed,” Melfina said, getting the attention of the Ctarl-Ctarl.

“It is supposed to utilize special minerals and chemicals to further the growth of cells for healing. It was made for humans, so for a Ctarl-Ctarl it must work even better.” Melfina smiled when she saw the very cat like smile form on Melfina’s face. She watched as Aisha swam as fast as possible out of the pool and towards this new hot spring, unaware at what she had just put into motion.

Aisha ran as fast as her injured legs would carry her to an archway at the far side of the pool. She peeked in and was overjoyed to see that no one was using the new hot spring. As she strutted in and walled into the shallow pool, she never saw the sign by the side discloses how this hot spring must not be used by anyone not human. That the effects of the hot spring can be dangerous to any one with non-human DNA and how the planet Tenrei is not responsible for gigantism or growth hormone supplementing in the bodies of non-human guests. Aisha saw none of this, all she knew was as soon as she was submerged in that hot spring all her injures magically faded away. She didn’t even notice when the spring which had been about neck deep, now was only up to her chest.
