Her 5'5" frame had a slight tone, enough to show she'd been working out in some way while still maintaining it's feminine charm and beauty. And none of this work impacted her breasts, which have remained 34Ds ever since they stopped growing when she was 18. But for some reason, it wouldn't go away from around her midsection and behind. While her arms and calves were mostly muscle, her abs and upper legs were covered in a slight layer of fat. She worked harder, she changed her diet, and even a few diet pills. Nothing got rid of this layer of fat, even though every physical trainer in the world would agree that all the lean muscle on her should get rid of it. She didn't object too much, though. It was annoying it never went away, but that was it. It never hung on her mind for too long, it never popped in when she was daydreaming, it was just something that shook her when she woke up and made her pause for thought after a work out.
Besides, this bit of bulk carried with it two huge advantages. The first being that her figure looked amazing. From a distance, most would swear the scarlet haired Melissa was paranoid and possibly anorexic. Only when they got in close and saw her in revealing or tighter clothes could anyone see she had a slight belly and a bubble butt. The second advantage was her karate training. Melissa was a First Degree Black Belt in American Kenpo and was big on the tournament scene. A number of opponents often looked at her slightly large frame and became extremely overconfident, making them quick work for someone with her skill. Originally, she studied karate hoping to drop this weight, but now, with all the first place trophies she had earned in tournaments, she was pretty happy if still confused to have this little extra. She still wanted it gone, but she didn't really pay it too much mind anymore.
When not training, Melissa was usually focused on her actual job - teaching the style. Back when she was a Blue Belt she became an assistant to some of the instructors and spent time helping the lower ranks. When she finally received her Green Belt, she was given the opportunity to be a full time teacher, and without a full time job and having just finished college, she jumped at the opportunity. Some of her younger students weren't very nice about her chunky midsection, but her position took care of that problem for the most part - one insult and she displayed the discipline aspect of martial arts training.
