Resentment turned to hate. In the stillness of the night the king sent two men to kill his wife and daughter. Though they killed the woman with ease neither could bring themselves to kill the daughter. Instead they hid her within the castle walls.
"Do not leave here until one of us comes for you." Confused and alone Snow White waited. Presently one of the men returned and beckoned her. She followed him, tripping on her skirts, feeling the cold stone beneath her feet. She fell, once, twisting her ankle, but still managed to keep up with the man as he ran through the courtyard.
The pair approached the west storm drain and Snow White heard a silent thud just above her heavy breathing. She almost fell over the man in front of her as he collapsed on the ground. She rushed to his side.
"Run Child..." he whispered.
The courtyard was quiet. Another arrow narrowly missed her and for the first time she could barely make out her fathers archers.
