High tech shrinking

Beast Boy was intrigued with the concept of shrinking things down. All he could think of was how it cool it would be to wander around the tower only an inch high or less. Of course, Beast Boy could just assume the shape of a creature that small (he had even taken the form of an amoeba once, to rescue Cyborg from a computer virus, but that's another story), but it was doing it in a high tech manner that thoroughly intrigued Beast Boy.
Beast Boy halted before he picked up and activated the circuit miniaturizer. Don't worry, he said to himself, I deal with this high tech stuff all the time.
As soon as Beast Boy touched a button, though, the circuit miniaturizer literally disintegrated in his hands. It also set off an alarm. The next thing Beast Boy knew, the lights were coming on and Cyborg was at the door.
"BB! What have you done to my circuit miniaturizer??!!"
Beast Boy looked at Cyborg and laughed nervously. "Anyone for a tofu banana split?"
