"there's no need to get all ruffled up, good sir..... I'm merely asking your reason to step onto my father's ship", Catalina asks Hugo, the pirate captain, coolly. Hugo is somewhat taken aback by the cool composure of this lady standing afore him. And not too bad a beauty as well..... too bad we have to do this, Hugo mumurs to himself.
"Good lady", Hugo shouts back, "We have come from afar to here for one reason only. We have come to take over your father's ship!"
Catalina gasps and involuntarily glances on the lower dock where the captain's best man looks up at her. Her eyes widen in unknown terror. She cannot believe her ears ... she's to ...... Suddenly, the captain voice rings out "All men to the cannons! We're going to blast these dastardly dogs away!"
With a sudden push, Catalina finds herself falling to the lower deck. Confused and terrified, she manages to make her way to the barrels and hides behind them.
Eyes fiercely shut, cannons boom and guns ring all around her. She pries her eyes open at intervals and watch the men fight. For every 3 ship's men that falls, only one pirate falls in return. Closing her eyes again, Catalina is aware of being watched. She opens her eyes and sees the pirate captain staring intently at her - right into her blue eyes. With a shudder, she watches as he fends himself against the sword thrusts of the captain and the captain's best man. Catalina cant bear it anymore and feels herself go blank.
Catalina's eyes open.. she's in the captain's cabin..... she doesnt know where she is .... snatches of memories come back to her and suddenly remembers the pirate invasion. With a start, she sits up and finds herself looking into the dark eyes of the pirate captain.
