Peter didn't understand why he couldn't button his jeans. They were his sizes and they should fit. He tried one las time to button them so he sucked in his stomach and pulled the two flaps the closer they could get but he just couldn't button them.
"They must have shrunk in the wash, there is no other reason why they would not fit. Whatever, I will just take a bigger pair of pants then."
Peter went to his closet and found the a pair of pants that was a size too big for him. As he did that, he noticed his reflection in the mirror. Was it him or his spiderman costume looked to be stretched pretty tightly around his belly? He turned sideways and saw that his belly was now a noticeable bulge. Almost scared, he took off his suit and it was no illusion; he did have a flabby belly. While his belly was pretty big, the other parts of his body had not really grown. There was a thin layer of fat on his arms and legs but it was nothing compared to the weight gain of his belly.
Peter then went into the bathroom to get the scale. He wanted to know if he had gained that much weight. He got on the scale and the number started flashing until it stopped at 190 pounds, a weight gain of twenty pounds.
"Oh my god, I didn't realise that I gained so much weight! It's real that I look kinda fat right now..."
Peter then took his belly in his hands and made it jiggle, to make sure it was not a dream. He sighed and started putting on his suit and after on his bigger pair of pants. Even if it was a size bigger than his other jeans, they were still pretty tight and when they were buttoned, it created a muffin top, making his love handles and belly stick out further than before. Peter than took a big shirt to hide his weight gain but it didn't work that well, his belly was noticeable and the button looked a bit strained.
Peter then went to the Daily Bugle and he stopped a robbery in a bank while he was going. He took this opportunity to take a photo of him so he could post it in the journal.
When he arrived at the Daily Bugle, he started to work and he looked at the photo he took. He then saw that his belly was very noticeable under his tight suit. Just as he was examining his photo, one of his coworker passed and said:" Wow, that's a great shot Parker!"
"Thanks" said Peter
"But is it me or does Spiderman looks to have a belly? Yes, he definitely has one, you would think a superhero would not gain weight but after all, he is just like us."
"Yeah..." said Peter, a bit shy
His coworker than looked at Peter and noticed his tight clothes and his belly. He then smiled and said while laughing:"Well he is not the only one to have gained weight, you have a pretty big belly there Parker!"
He then slapped Peter's belly and he lifted up his shirt (Peter had took off his suit since he was at work so the coworker didn't see the suit) and made his belly jiggle dangerously.
"You have gotten fat man, you even have love handles now!" The coworker said while poking Peter's love handles and belly.
