Submit your favorite writing craft books for GPs & help us build a resource for WDC!
This survey is super easy and will help writers throughout WDC!

Have you ever struggled with things like "show don't tell", or how to outline a novel? What about grammar and punctuation? How about the plot, pacing, characterization, description, and setting? What about those pesky adverbs? Or maybe short stories? Poetry? Finding an agent? Writing a query letter? Have you ever wanted to learn now to write better, or a new type of writing like memoir or nonfiction? Article writing? What if you receive a review that talks about something you want to learn more about it than the reviewer can explain? Where do you turn to? What are your go-to resources for writing knowledge? We all have them, it's time we share them!

Sometimes, in writing, it's good to have resources to go to for answers to questions that come up when writing. A good writer keeps a library on hand of go-to books for easy reference because it's not possible to memorize them all! With the days of Kindle, one might think to have a digital copy is sufficient but I find that doesn't have quite as easy access as flipping through an index or a table of contents to find what I need quickly.

For that, I'm creating a static resource that will be chock full of recommended reference material all about the craft of writing - sorted by topic. I'll create a poll after the submissions end where everyone can vote for their topic favorites and then I'll create the list with those at the top. But I need your help! It's very simple. Have a favorite writing-related book? Submit it! You'll receive 500 GPs for each submission!

Now that doesn't mean go zip over to Amazon or Barnes and Noble and pick the bestsellers - these should be books that have helped you learn and would help others. Don't submit the ones that didn't do anything for you, just the ones you love, the ones that impact you years after reading them (like Elements of Style by Strunk and White, On Writing by Stephen King, or Wild Mind by Natalie Goldberg). But pay attention to the list so you don't submit something someone else already did! If it's already on the list, submit something else. Voting will be available once we have enough entries to vote on. I have a limited number of GPs (100,000) so once there are enough entries, the contest ends, so don't wait!
