  This is a book about...

This book is about how to live and how to die with dignity. Morrie has lessons to teach not only his former student, Mitch Albom but the world as well. He was dying from a disease that would eventually choke him to death, ALS often known as Lou Gerhig's disease.

He met with Mitch every Tuesday until his death. He would discuss anything under the sun. He did not preach but said things as they are in life.

The main thing that kept him alive for so long was the fact that he had family and friends whom came to visit. He talked about forgiveness, meditation, letting go (of the things that you cannot change) and more.

He was scared to die but dsid not let that stop him from living life to its fullest. He did not let the fact that his illness took away his ability to be independent hamper the fact that he still had a mind that was fully function. For him depression was not an issue. He knew that his friends and family would continue to be there for him until the end.

Mitch Albom was there through Morrie's journey from life to death. He learned how to do things that he was once grossed out by (i.e. helping Morrie to the bathroom, changing a bag of urine, etc) and does them with dignity in the end.

  I especially liked...

I liked the fact that this book was an honest look at a man that was dying and the author's ability to watch death as it happens. I also like the fact that Mitch had the nerve to write the book in the first place knowing that it would help others dal with life and death in their own life. Death is a part of life and as Morrie says we should not fear the expected cycle of life

  I didn't like...

I liked everything. This book only took me s day to read, so I must have liked it.

When I finished this book I wanted to...

Read more about Morrie Schwartz. He must have been an amazing man to have all those friends and family come on a regular bases.

  This book made me feel...

Good about being alive and better at dealing with my own circumstance that I have found myself in lately. I broke my right patella on 1/12/03 and this book has helped me deal with that specifically.

  The author of this book...

The author of this book is a courageous man to go back to his former professor, Morrie Schwartz after many years away just to be there for his professor in this most trying time of his life.

  I recommend this book because...

I reccommend this book because it is about life and death and how to get through the best and worst of days

I don't recommend this book because...

n/a -- no comment because I would reccommend this book to all.

  Further Comments...

This is a must read in my opinion.
