Reviews with Honesty

Ratings

We focus on honest reviews, and because of this we have our own set of ratings that we follow. We want to help writers continue to improve their craft, so we are more strict with ratings given. Below are our ratings and what each means in context of the reviews we give.

1 - A 1-star rating means that the piece is extremely sub-par. There are quite a few elements that can be improved upon.
2 - A 2-star rating means that the piece is below average.
3 - This is the default rating for any item we review. Receiving a 3-star review denotes that the item was average. There are elements within this piece that can be improved.
4 - A 4-star rating means that the piece was above average. There are elements that have brought this piece above the normal.
5 - A 5-star rating means that this piece is perfect to the reviewer and no faults were found.

Review Quality

This group is all about reviews and giving honest, quality reviews to those within the WDC community. Because of this, we do not require a character count aside from being 250 character so that it will show on the Public Reviews board.

If you have a disclaimer or signature within your review, it should not count toward the character count. We want to have reviews that are substantive and not full of fluff.

What we consider fluff reviews:
1. Generic statements that could apply to any piece of writing.
2. Stories inspired by the item.
3. Stating the same thing in different ways to reach character counts.
4. Does not include constructive comments.
5. Summary of the item being reviewed.
6. Copying large chunks of the piece into the review.



Rewarding Reviews

We highly encourage our members to reward reviews that are done by both group members and the general WDC community. While rewarding reviews can be subjective, we want to keep the focus on honest, quality reviews. When you are rewarding reviews, keep track of what reviews you reward. If you reward reviews, we will reimburse you for the reviews you reward with GPs. Fill out "Invalid Item"  with the reviews you rewarded and how many GPs you gave.
