Thanks for your comments, Ilona. I agree with you -- this forum is great because we can all just say whatever we want to say. But I wanted to make sure you knew I wasn't forgetting about you. It's nice to hear from someone who works in the field of medicine! I didn't know that "hypo" meant too little. I'm not cutting down on my sugar; I never eat refined sugars, but I'm still eating honey, unrefined sugar, fruits, etc. just as I used to. Cherie told me that when her mother had it, Nana used to eat small meals of protein throughout the day, so I'm trying to do that and it's working pretty well. When I forget to eat regularly and it's been a couple hours and I can feel that I'm hungry, I get bitchy and jittery and sometimes have minor foggy-mind stuff. Would that be corrected if I were to eat something sugary, like a piece of fruit? When it happens I try to eat protein because I can feel that I'm hungry, but maybe I need some carbs to jolt me out of the state I've fallen into? It doesn't seem like it's not a good thing for my body for me to "jolt" it, but whatever! Maybe that was a poor choice of word. Like I said, thanks for your reply -- it's nice to hear from you. And I'll let you know how I'm doing as I get this sorted out. Visit my web site at http://elizabeth.bouma-holtrop.com! |
