Say happy birthday to Jasper for me! How did your mini party go? We just turned on the heat in our house today and you can smell it here in the office. Steve says it's dust burning off the hot pipes, but that's too prosaic a description for a really comforting, wintery smell! Anyway, suddenly it felt so much like November and doing NaNoWriMo and it being my birthday...that's been waving over me, and got stronger when you mentioned Jasper's birthday!

We almost always bake with honey; that's what we used for the apple cake/bread. Sometimes we use rapadura, which is unrefined evaporaed cane juice, I guess? Kind of a brown sugar, but with all the nutrients still in it? Have you used rapadura before?

Of course you can come if you find a ticket on December 24th! How low does the price need to be to fit your budget?
