"A Problem Page For All!"

Rehearsals are going well, thanks. I've only been to two because I missed February 7th (I went to a Procott Playshop instead...have any of you heard of Procotting, maybe from the Utne Reader? Catsy, do you ever read Utne?). From now on I'll be coming a half an hour earlier than the other dancers because I have more to learn than the others. -- I have the learn the finale and my solo, and the extra choroegraphy they learned on the 7th, and Becca has to clean up my part in the pumpkin patch dance, and...well, I feel important and tired. I can't wait to see what my costume will be like.

Rachel and I have relaxed a bit around each other regarding this dancing thing. I think she was afraid I'd get all stuck up and start acting like the Dance Collective was the best thing since sliced whole-wheat bread...but I'm not disillusioned. I still have problems with the Collective. I'm not pretending that they're perfect just because they picked me for a lead role.

Also, in dancing news: Rachel and I are going to choreograph a piece together! We're very excited about it. We've talked about it for years, but now we're listening to music and talking about themes and stuff...Rach wants to do a mirror image piece. I like that idea, but I want something that can showcase our very different styles -- maybe the same exact choreography for both of us, but using moves that could be understated (Rachel's forte) or overstated (my style). We'll have to grub around with it and see. We might even ask Liz (the director of the Dance Collective and our old teacher) if we can perform it in their big, annual June concert. Wish us luck!
