Saturday Night! 7:30PM on TNT. We get our first competitive glimpse of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup guys in action. The line-up should look something like: #23-Dave Blaney #X-Geoffrey Bodine [will not run the race] #8-Dale Earnhardt Jr. #9-Bill Elliott #24-Jeff Gordon #43-Jeff Green [will NOT run the race in the #43] #29-Kevin Harvick #88-Dale Jarrett #48-Jimmie Johnson #18-Bobby Labonte #5-Terry Labonte #6-Mark Martin #19-Jeremy Mayfield #42-Jamie McMurray #12-Ryan Newman #77?-Steve Park [may run the #77] #38-Eliiott Sadler #01-Boris Said [will run a MB2 car in the event, won in the #01] #49-Ken Schrader #20-Tony Stewart #10-Mike Skinner [will run in the #10 Chevy and run the Truck series in 2004] #2-Rusty Wallace Little E won it last year. Who will this year? Any takers? I'll take the #48- Jimmie was fastest in testing and he's been seriously competitive at all the restrictor plate races lately. This is only a 70 lap race-long enough to need to show some patience, but short enough that the aggressive stance of the younger drivers may be a bonus. There're some serious wild cards in the group- Boris Said (on a superspeedway? where's the road course?) Kenny Schrader- if he can avoid any major wrecks in front of him or behind him he could make a good showing. and Mike Skinner- it's been so long since he's been competitive with the big boys I have my doubts. I'll be checking out Happy Hour on Speed Friday at 6:30! Maybe I'll change my mind about Jimmie...maybe Jeff will finally be showing us what he's really got ready to go at Daytona ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** Join me at: "Invalid Item" by A Guest Visitor |
