OK, guy and girls

This is cool! Let's talk NASCAR! My husband and I are committed denizens of the NASCAR asylum. We actually bought the RV two years ago because the traffic to the track was unbearable- we might as well stay the weekend. I've been hooked since the mid-80's. I would be at home on Saturday or Sunday afternoons looking for a movie to watch and found Ned Jarrett, Buddy Baker, Dr. Jerry Punch and Neil Bonnet calling the races on TNN and ESPN. The addiction took several years to truly take over- but now its complete- there is no escaping!

And now a whole new world begins- no more Winston Cup, no more 76 and a new points system! Soft walls, black boxes, and pit road rule changes every other race. And then there is that Lucky Dog pass- I'm still not convinced by that thing. Testing was interesting- DEI boys and Jimmie Johnson remained strong at the restrictor plate track and we got a look at the new rear end to the Fords. Was Jeff Gordon holding back during testing, like he usually does- or did he really not find it this year?

Toyota has entered the ring. Does this mean that NASCAR remains true to North America or has it sold its soul?

New tracks vs. the old. Short trackin vs. superspeedways. And then there's the road coarses...

So much to chat about. And of course there's the collecting- cars, clothes, calendars, and even a tire or two.
