This forum is for all women who want to discuss Menopause. |
I have to agree with catwoman Read, and inform yourself. While my hysterectomy/oopherectomy was necessary, I went into it blindly without knowing a fraction of the side effects. My personality has changed. More and more, I feel cold hearted and apathetic when that's just not me. More and more, I feel mean, and I'm working hard to counteract those feelings. Sometimes, the meanness spills over into my interaction with folks here, so I try to make sure I only interact when I'm feeling better than mean. There's so many side effects of a hysterectomy. I suggest http://www.webmd.com Read up on hysterectomies, alternative treatments, and I'd read as many first hand accounts as you can. All results are different, but there are many common side effects. Sometimes, the surgery is necessary, but if it's not, I highly do NOT recommend a hysterectomy to anyone. Forced menopause was pretty rough at 31. The very only upside is no periods, but the other effects are sometimes pretty horrendous. I'd much rather have my cycle back then go through the daily stuff I do, and will experience for the rest of my life. Make an informed and educated decision for yourself only.
