There are way toooo many posts going around with plus 14 re:s attached the the front. I'm going to make it more simple to.... well me, mainly, and write all of my little opinions in one little post like so. Oh wow. (about alex's comment on gayness in the USA) Are you kidding about it being taboo? Like, all of my friends back in australia (including myself) were bi, gay or lesbian!!!! I thought it was normal. When I talked to Fleur, she seemed alright about it, so I just figured that all English were. Man, there was even a bet a couple of times when we had drinking nights that we should pash each other. Her boyfriend was one of the darers!!! I'm actually further surprised by this taboo statement though, because wasn't it in America that the first gay couple was legally allowed to marry?? I agree with yana though, (while cheering for free gayness in holland) in australia we think the same thing - usa thinking they are so ahead and then they come out with something we've been okay about for the last 5 years. actually, it was the same when i went over to ireland come to think of it. they are only cracking down on drink driving and smoking in public places now, but we've been worrying about that since I was little! As for postage addresses, I figure that you all know each others' addresses, so if I put mine up for all of you to see, and then whoever of you has time/money/wish to write to me, can send your return address on the envelope and we can go from there. Seemed an intelligent idea to me. Hah, that's funny Cait, that you liked Claudia the best. The first ones I read and liked had her as the main character. THen I went to the library but there weren't any Claudia centric books there, so I picked up another one and didn't like it at all and just stopped reading them completely, prefering to go back to the old favs of Enid Blyton, Roald Dahl and australain author, Paul Jennings. Ooh, do people know that the illustrator for Dahl, Quentin Blake's work is going to be exhibitioned in England until March next year?? It was on the news last night and interested me. I think he's fantastic!! *grins at cait* That image of aussies on the beach at xmas is exactly how it is! no kidding! And I just figured alex meant me when she commented on not seeing snow. I thought i had mentioned it a couple of posts ago *shrugs* not that I guess it really matters all that much. But yeah, I'm loving it this year; frost on the ground, low mists all day, it's wonderful! exactly how I've always wanted the xmas season to be like!!! about alex posting snow? I heard a joke about americans doing that, told with a complete straight face and the guy in front of her (it was the woman who plays tracey in ally macbeal) was like 'no, seriously?' it was so funny! man, i have to stop watching graham norton!! right, I think that finally covers it, just in time for my 5 minute computer warning to start flashing across the screen. *smiles at everybody* I hope this is easy enough to understand! love |
