Entry for Alicia
Pookie-Poo the
Pumpkin

Written By S. Alicia Seecharan

Once upon a Halloween Eve, there was a pumpkin sitting on the leaves.
Pookie-Poo the Pumpkin was playful and lonely. Everyone came by and picked
a
pumpkin to carve-up. All the pumpkins were sold, but Pookie-Poo.

It was dark in the fields with no stars shining bright. Even the moon was
covered with clouds. Pookie-Poo fell asleep to the rustling music of wind
and leaves.

“I never seen such an ugly squash,” said a fly by night owl.
She
was looking for some fun and ran all the right places, except for tonight.

Amber the Owl perched herself-up on Pookie-Poo and woke him out of a deep
slumber.

Pookie-Poo was excited. He had company to play with.

“I haven’t seen you in these neck of the woods before. Do you
want to dance,” Pookie-Poo asked.

“Not on your life. You so ugly! We never know, which trees are gonna
start talking. I just need a partner to fly. So, I’ll show myself
off
for a while. By the way name is Amber. Don’t forget it,” she
nastily stated. Then stuck a claw into his head.

Pookie-Poo started to cry, “Why are you using me this way? At least
be
nice, if you want to stay around me.”

There was huddle of black crows flying through and they heard Pookie-Poo.
They also saw a hottie. So, they swooped down to see what was transpiring.

“Break it up. Break it up. The girl is with us,” demanded the
largest crow.

“You can keep her. She has no manners,” stated Pookie-Poo.

Amber stuck another claw into Pookie-Poo and it got caught. She decided to
act coy. Winking her lashes and wiggling her tail just so no one would
notice.

All of a sudden, her claw was out and Pumpkin pulp was all over.

“What did I tell you? She’s just plain nasty,” Pookie-Poo
exclaimed, but no, those crows didn’t see a thing wrong.

They were so enthralled by her wiggle. Every single crow walked around and
brought her back a chestnut or an acorn.

She never said a word. Just laughed at their bad jokes and flapped her
wings
some more.

Amber decided to take the biggest crow. They all flew off and left
Pookie-Poo.

He was so happy to be left alone. Pookie-Poo screamed with glee,
“Good
riddens!”

He went back to sleep.

Awoken by the rising sun. Pookie-Poo was happy to see the rooster crackling
a doodle. He didn’t feel ugly, but was saddened to view some of his
pulp. It was drying to the sun.

Pookie-Poo started to cry again.

Kitty the Farmer Lady came through the fields.

“My, my, my, only one pumpkin in the whole farm. You must be a
special
one. A little bruised, but I can make a nice pie and nice relish preserves
for Turkey Day too,” she spoke to Pookie-Poo.

Kitty was so happy walking with her pumpkin. Pookie-poo felt her love too.

Happy Halloween to all, and to all a little piece of Pookie-poo madness.
