Sometimes we do have to generalize. However we have to be very careful about the conclusions that we may reach and what action we take on this basis. I completely agree with you when you say that generalizations are dangerous. Specially true when applied to human beings, races and religion. After 9/11 some people took it upon themselves to kill anyone they saw wearing a turban.
