Another fascinating book review. You know I enjoy reading true crime (and watching it on TV), so I'm sure this book would be a good one for me.
I watched a true crime show just the other day where they were discussing children (under 16s) who commit crimes and whether they can change. My instinct was to say, no way. They've committed the crime. Lock them up indefinitely (I think the maximum sentence for murder if you are under 16 is, like, twelve years over here). But watching the show did make me think about the me from when I was under 16, and how much I've changed. It's a tough one. Maybe it should depend on the facts of the crime. I have to say, though, in principal, I don't agree with the death penalty. In principal. Sometimes, though, crimes are so horrific that I wonder about that belief.
