Motivate yourself to conquer your goals this week! Post on Monday; update us on Friday! |
Aside from there being no alcohol involved, I do feel like that '90s Chumbawamba song is about me. Every goal, plan, or schedule I try to adhere to at the moment gets thrown out the window the next day. Two weeks ago, everyone in our family had a bad cold/flu. Last week, we kept being called home, because our oldest was apparently sick (only for her to be full of energy and not having a trace of fever when got home). Finally, we thought it was all over... and then I got called home, because now our youngest is sick... sigh. It seems I'll keep the bar low this coming week as well. Ah, but first the update. There is the "but I get up again" part of the song mentioned above, and while it was rough week, I do think I managed to get the best out of it. Writing goals Write every day: It wasn't always much, but I managed to get a bit of outlining, writing, or editing done every day, staying consistent. I even managed to get a little done Saturday during a train ride. So, not a bad week in that regard. Continue edits on my novelette: Yes! I finally finished that second draft. To be fair, I wasn't missing a whole lot, but still. Now, I'll give it a short break before returning for a new round of edits. Continue outline for Danish SF story: Check. I have an outline that's at least functional. What issues I think might be there are ones which I probably can't fix before having a rough draft. So, next week is for starting this story. Other goals Do a review: Yep, got that one done, and it was review I was pretty happy with as well, finally having some constructive feedback for a near-perfect novel (those are just so difficult to comment on). Get exercise and eat healthy: Well, it started of well enough, but what with the oldest being home all week, there wasn't much time or energy left for anything. Plus my sugar cravings were worse than ever (I blame that on the lack of rest/sleep). The not-really-goals-but-nice-to-get-done-if-the-time-is-there: I didn't manage to even start another review, and Fantasticon prep-work was definitely out of the picture (I even had to opt out of the planning meeting). I did get around to doing my vocal exercises, though, once my voice was back to normal after having to deal with a cold myself. All things considered, this was about as good a writing week as I could've hoped for. |
