I remember when I was little, they would show the Wizard of Oz on time during the spring time and the whole family would gather around my granny and grandpa's TV and just watch it as a family event. Sadly, I think TV and shows/movies like that are rare.
In the past couple of years, my husband and I will watch Game of Thrones and Shogun. That's good TV. When Top Gun 2 came out, we played Top Gun 1 for our son who was interested in watching it. I think shows that gather the family around to watch are a good thing, but again, rare for 2020's, but not uncommon for the 1970's.
