Re: Re: Re: Does this site have a policy against cuss words?
I understand but no need to worry. Just because someone in particular might find it offensive, doesn't mean that's going to be the community standard. Since so many people have different opinions, the site has the standardized approach probably because we can't go off just every different viewpoint. This way pretty much all writing has a place and the readers have a way to be a little aware before clicking into something. Still might get the occasional scar or surprise but we try to keep our eyes out when we can to make sure things are well.

Long story for relation purposes:

I write stories that include gay male main characters. Some of the stories are very adult with erotica elements but others might be about coming out or have a simple kiss or asking another character out. So, my stories range from YA to XXX. I do tend to rate a little on the higher side, sticking more the 18+ and beyond but will do the very light stories still at 13+ because we do have LGBTQIA+ teens on the site that deserve representation. Most of the time, I don't have a problem. I have, however, had a couple reviews where the person was offended once they made it through the item by the gay character because I didn't have a warning in the description. I do list them all in the categories though it might not be the first "genre" but still.

In general, we promote stories for all types of characters. Some people might not want to read them but the trick is knowing when the responsibility will rest on the writer and when on the reader.

If you ever aren't sure about something, you can always check a forum or message someone for help. That's the good part about this site. We do have a bit of a community even though not everyone will get along, as is natural. I'm around often, so if you want to save my profile you can message me with questions as long as they aren't too tech. I am a writing moderator but some of the tech stuff on the site is over my head. Other than that, I'm happy to help. *Smile*
