Welcome to Writing.Com, BrokenRing Author Icon. Congrats on taking the step of putting your works out there for others to see. That's a leap forward, and commend you for it.

It looks like you've figured out how to add items to your Port. There are a number of poetry groups and contests on site. Find the former by looking under B (in the menu on the left side of each page --> Groups, they type poetry in the search box. Find the latter under Community --> Contests.
