One reason I did Nano this year was that I did not want to lose the record of my past Nanos and the official site said they were going to delete inactive members. I would rather choose to close my Nano account than have them do it.
Another thing, the Nano site no longer offers the interactions over there that they once did so participating over there seems a tad pointless these days.
Lastly, deleting my account removes the temptation to officially do Nano again. By grabbing the screenshots from my previous Nano projects, I have a record of my word counts from those years. Since I now have those, I no longer need the records to be kept there.
I look forward to getting to 50,000 this year but I really want my focus to be elsewhere in the future...
