Noticing Newbies

I have been looking for a writers group for a long tine and I decided to try this one. I am looking for not only advice but for friends that enjoy writing as much as I do that I can talk to about it. I am from a small town in the middle of no where and there isn't anything for hundreds of miles. I feel like writing is not just a passion but a part of me. When I am "on: the words seem to flow like blood through my fingers onto the keyboard. I am 43, I have two kids and six grandkids. I am admittedly a total nerd. I love to research things and learn new things. I love the simple and free parts of life the most. When I am not writing I am reading, researching, traveling, advocating for suicide prevention, sitting on two boards, spending time with my family, jamming out or watching a good movie. I love sleeping so much I consider it one of my hobbies. I am hoping I can find some cool people to connect with and finally be brave enough to put my own writing out there.
