It takes years to learn grammar by reading. It takes moments to plug it into a grammar checker. I never suggested "trusting a machine to do it for you." I'll thank you not to put words into my response. I suggested checking it with a new tool. I happen to have several non-native English speakers in my group who have benefited greatly by using ChatGPT to improve their reports. If anyone doesn't want to use a new tool, then one is welcome not to use it. I stand by my suggestion, because I have seen the results by doing exactly this within my group.
