This is one of the reasons why I always use female beta readers. They are really good at picking up things like this and pointing them out to me. Not just in appearance, but in attitude, behaviour, response, etc. I am a straight white male; I am going to ask for help to make sure I get it right.
For the same reason, I now use gay beta readers and Indigenous beta readers when I include those characters in my work.
