I never knew it was a problem that went both ways but yes though I have not read many romance novels I have seen many depictions of male characters that would be considered abnormal. It does not hinder my reading experience for I have seen many people in many shapes that would be considered unrealistic and abnormal so I find it strange why it even bothers me at all.
Especially when compared to some of Brent Weeks novels where there is at least one person with an highly exaggerated body. Those depictions dont bother me at all despite being written to be more abnormal than Jim Butcher's novels.
