I've added a new entry to my book, "Weekly Poetry Challenge Five" : "quiet chaos" quiet chaos Poem should be inspired by the prompt/image in some way A minimum of 12 lines, no maximum There are no form requirements Your submission must be newly written for this week's prompt quiet chaos descends on the land on the day after the big election a sense of quiet chaos descended across the land. The campaign has ended The commercials have gone silent Pundits debate What does it all mean? Both candidates Claim they won And the other candidate Must have cheated. The public feels A big “Meh” Saying to both sides “Get over it. Get a life. The sun will rise again The world is not ending. And we will get through this Whatever the hell this is.”” Good advice to us all As we deal with the quiet chaos That always follows A hotly fought election. Note: I am not stating my opinion in this poem. Plenty of time to do that, Many people including me are just glad it is finally almost over. And we will get through whatever happens. That is what humans do and have been doing since time began. |
