Hi and I wish you a very warm welcome to Writing.com. Should be a perfect fit for someone like yourself who's obviously keen to improve their technique.

As for getting to know your characters, my advice is to spend some quality time looking at the world in general through the eyes of each of them in turn, making sure to keep a log in as fine a detail as you can - say 1000+ words for each? Then, before you start writing your actual story, get back inside their heads once more and sketch out another paragraph or three - more specific this time - on how they'd probably relate to your other main characters, both individually and as a group.

After all that, whatcha waiting for? Just enjoy the thrill of creative writing! *Wink*
