We were in downtown Billings, Montana yesterday afternoon. I saw something I don't think I've ever seen before. Let me rephrase that. I saw something I know I've never seen before.
So, it was not a busy day in the city. Not a lot of traffic. But there were a fair number of people on bicycles. One man went pedaling through the intersection. He had a duffel bag over his shoulders, so he was hunched over a bit. And on top of that duffel was perched, ever so nicely, a little white and brown dog. No leash, no tether. Just standing on top of the duffel, faced forward, like a statue.
Now I just wondered what feat of gravity was at work to keep that little dog perched so perfectly on top of that bag as that man pedaled speedily down the street.
