Thanks for this book review. It sounds like a fascinating and useful book. When I read the list of things to do/not do, the one that struck me most was to start as close to the end as possible. Something clicked when I read this, and I think I understood properly how important editing and cutting the unnecessary information is. I mean, that's obvious, right? But I'm such a waffler. Now, I get it. Like you, I didn't agree with the 'more information, no need for suspense' rule. When your favourite read is thrillers and mysteries, that doesn't really work. And, also, I don't necessarily want to be able to write the end for myself. I love a good plot twist right at the end. Other than that, though, it sounds like this book is full of good advice.
