Update: Success... somehow (2024.08.09)
by Tobber Author IconMail Icon
Everyone else have started setting new goals for the week, so... yeah, I'm late, very late, with my update.

This week was utter chaos at work, and with kids sick on top of it, I really didn't expect any sort of results. Yet, looking back, I actually managed more than well, far better than I do during an average week.

I'm not sure what to make of this. Does it mean I work best under pressure (I hope not) or that my goal-setting really works (or that my goals-setting is inconsistent)? Either way, I'm happy with how my writing-related goals turned out. Next week ought be more chaos, but I guess I might as well try to set the bar high.

*BoxCheck* Write/edit/outline every day: Check. This is always my first priority, so a lot had to go wrong before I failed that. Sickness is one of those things, so I'm glad that I managed to write every day, including Saturday.

*BoxCheck* Do vocal exercises: I didn't manage to do them every day, but I still surpased what I would call the minimum requirement by quite a lot.

*BoxCheck* Do a review: Well, I didn't managed until Saturday, but considering the kind of week I had, I'll count that.

*BoxCheck* *BoxCheck* Submit one or more stories: I'll count this as a big success, since I managed to submit every story I had waiting. I even got a rejection for one of those stories already (so it probably goes into the next set of goals).

*BoxCheck* Do blog/Codex update: I didn't manage a blog post, but considering I never expected to achieve this goal in the first place, managing to do an update over at Codex is more than satisfactory.
