I live in the gray areas. I hardly ever outline anything because I can never stick to it.
Usually, I just have an idea about a character and sit down and start writing, letting them lead the way. I won't lie, I tend to get stuck on occasion. I've missed moments in a book series that I'm currently still playing with.
Book 1 is finished, and book 2 is now finished because in the middle of writing book 3 and abandoning book 2 because I was stuck, I figured out the major hiccup and then backtracked to book 2, and that is complete.
Now, I have 2 completed, 2 halfway written, and because I'm taking Romantica, I may have just started book 5
In my humble opinion, I seriously believe we all use the tools that feel right for each of us.
