Noticing Newbies

Technically, I may not be a newbie, but hear me out. I joined WDC in fall of 2023, but I have really only logged in a few times since then. At first I found myself all gung-ho about joining and writing and getting to know everyone, but then quickly felt overwhelmed and fell into the deep chasm of "what do I do now". So here I am, 8 months later and FINALLY making my first post.

I want to do some reviews but find myself at a complete loss. I have written a lot of poetry in the past but would never profess myself a connoisseur of said writing. So, in an effort to reduce the risk of allowing myself to be overwhelmed again and subsequently logging off and not coming back for several months, I'm doing my full due diligence and posting here. And yet, I still find myself asking, "what now". LOL!

I guess I better start off trying to make a few friends here under the anonymity of the online word, hidden in the shadows of black and white ink on the stark white screen. I feel like I'm tapping on a mic, gently, and asking, "is this thing on?". So, if you're here, and new like me, I extend a hand of friendship. Would you like to join me and the excitement and confusion of learning this site, posting, and reviewing others' writing? Are you with me?
