Thanks for this detailed review. You know, I've spent most of my adult life thinking I loved this book. But, after reading your review, I've thought about that. And I haven't read (or watched) the book or film since I was a child. Reading your review, it doesn't sound at all like the kind of book I would like. How bizarre.
This book sounds like this was a hard slog. I applaud you for persevering. The good thing is, you've now earned your March ribbon.
