There was a paranormal theme that wound throughout the book. Two of the characters had "the sight" which let them either know things they couldn't have known naturally or see things from the past or say things via someone from long ago (beyond the grave). Also Sean Pope's great-great however many times grandfather and grandmother had their romance finally come full circle in a paranormal way.
